Why we like this hotel
- The out-of-town location offers a sense of remoteness you don't get at other hotels on the island.
- Emphasis on explorations with a wide range of excursions to choose from.
- Really nice jacuzzi bathtub in your room and a good, comfortable bed.
- It's intimate (30 rooms) with that signature Explora brand (same font for the menus, those Explore books, the water bottle etc.)
- Beautiful Pacific Ocean views from the South Coast of the island.
We think it's worth noting
- Very adaptable for gentle or more active guests, but especially good if you want to incorporate more hiking and you can turn the simple site visits into long walks that end at the sites.
- Because of its remoteness, you will need transport to get to town.
- Ask for sunrise Tongariki and sunset Tahai if you like photography.
