The highlight of my time on the Ventus ship was a famous stretch of fjords known as Glacier Alley. As we sailed through we were treated to one glacier after another (after another!) in a stunning display of Patagonia's Southern Ice Field. As if the glaciers weren't awe-inspiring enough, we found ourselves surrounded by humpback whales and you could see their flukes rising from the water and plumes of vapour each time they came up for breath. I found myself hopping from one side of the deck to the other to try to take it all in, it was just such an amazing moment shared with the new friends I made on the cruise.

I loved spending time in the three different lounges, as well as the numerous outdoor decks. Watching the fjords unfold around you as you sail isolated into the Patagonian fjords is such a wonderful feeling.

The best way to connect Ushuaia in Argentina with Punta Arenas in Chile, this cruise on board the Ventus would combine very well with some hiking, based at a luxury lodge in the Torres del Paine National Park, or exploring the best of Tierra del Fuego. These can be arranged before or after your cruise, depending on the route direction you choose.
