Standing with our small group at Laguna Amarga Ranch as a pregnant puma walked very close to us! Being able to observe pumas as they played, chewed on guanacho bones, "eeked" to call their cubs and teach them to hunt.

I'll list two items: 1. Completing the Torres del Paine hike. This was a push for Debbie and I and we were very lucky with the weather. The whole day, all aspects were stunning but that combined with the effort involved yielded a sense of real accomplishment at the end of the day. 2. As a sailor, seeing Cape Horn. Even though we couldn't disembark with the wind howling 50 knots, to me this didn't matter. Cape Horn lived up to it's reputation and that was for me almost better!

It is a toss up- our wonderful guides were so informative and honest about Argentina, the history, the culture, and their love and appreciation for their country. Personally, the sense of accomplishment at completing so many of the challenging activities we had scheduled on our itinerary, while in some of the most memorable and breathtaking sceneries we have experienced, will be something that I will never forget.

I waited for years to go to Patagonia - a trip of a lifetime that I would highly recommend. But I would not recommend using Swoop who described our expensive accommodations at Serrano camp as deluxe. Rather it was quite basic. Not a sanctuary of “quiet for an ideal night’s sleep” as we were put in tents on the property smaller than the rest and right beside the deafening sound of the generator that ran all day and night. What was supposed to be a special celebration turned in to a nightmare. On a positive note, the people who worked for Chile Nativo at Serrano camp were very helpful and found accommodation for a couple of us nearby. The staff were very helpful and the food was wonderful and plentiful. The guide and driver that were dedicated to the group were amazing and very passionate about all the wonders that Patagonia has to offer.

We had so many that we really can't choose! But - we loved poincenot camp, laguna condor refugio, patagonia camp, and the base of the towers trek!

Cannot possibly choose one!! The two major hikes were outstanding and even though you've seen photos of "the top", there is nothing that can compare to making it to the top and seeing the stunning iconic views for yourself. Many other excursions were fabulous and most/all our guides, when we had them, were also outstanding. Experiencing it all with your very best friends was the sweetest icing on the cake.

The highlight was definitely the W trek through Torres Del Paine. The hikes from El Chalten were also very good. The views and landscapes were probably the best I’ve seen and the biggest surprise was how good and hot the weather was!

This was a once in a life time experience. Getting on to the zodiac and disembarking in Cape Horn was such an incredible moment, getting to walk all the way up to the lake house and watching the ocean all around us felt like we were at the end of the world.
