Tell us about Explora
Explora is wonderful - exceeded our expectations in every way. After I completed the "base of the towers", Marisol upgraded us to a mountain-facing room. Guides were excellent. The whole experience at Explora was first-class.
Tell us about Patagonia Camp
We were glad we finished our journey with Patagonia Camp, which is different from Explora - a bit more laid back, and different scenery. Again, guides were excellent.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
How could you not like an adventure in Torres del Paine? Scenery and hiking were fantastic. It was easy to select which hike you wanted on each day. Food and drinks were a fun daily experience. I cannot say enough about the friendliness and attention of the whole staff. The international travelers there for a whole week made it easy to make new friends.
Something Else?
Thanks to Carolina Muchnik and others for making sure our luggage got to Explora after a five day delay. It arrived just in time for our climb to the base of the towers. Also, Explora arranged to pick up the luggage from Puerto Natales.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
If doing a two week trip, consider going to Fitz Roy also in Argentina. Friends did that and the pictures looked as stunning as Torres del Paine.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
Maybe emphasize that the lodges are very casual and everyone wore backpacking attire the whole time. We took too much "stuff".
