The Original Torres Del Paine W Trek Reviews

I think the most memorable moment on the trail was finally getting to the view points in the French Valley and Mirador del Torre. They were breath taking. The most memorable moments off trail were enjoying time with our group and amazing guides at the end of each day.

The trip was great. Unfortunately there was a bridge broken so we were unable to complete the actual W Trek and had to do one of the hikes 2 days in a row, which was very disappointing, but that wasn't something that could be controlled. The guide offered to let us cross the river, and half of the group wanted to but the other half was against it so it would have been nice to just have the guide make the decision for us instead of leaving it up to individuals totally unfamiliar with the area. Also the mandatory upgrade to semi private cabins on the 3rd night was very disappointing and inconvenient as the bathrooms were broken and we ended up having to trek down to the main part just to use the bathroom and showers. We got to see a lot of wildlife- including a puma, foxes, and guanacos! Very cool! The accommodations are in stunning locations as well and glad I wasn't camping!

W trek was spectacular, all the locations were wonderful. Felipe and Hector (guides on W Trek) were standouts. Trip was exceptionally well planned and executed by the Swoop team and partners. Communication was excellent and we were impressed.

Overall my trip was incredible. I honestly don't know if I can think of a highlight - the group was amazing, the guide was fantastic and the views were just second to none. I couldn't have asked for a better group, we all got on so well and the guide (Armando) couldn't have been better.

I would not say that the people working in the refugios were particularly friendly, but wow the people we met along the trail were all so unbelievably friendly! Almost everyone we passed said Hola, and it felt like we were all friends sharing this great experience together. The landscapes were unique and breathtaking, something new around every corner. We were fortunate enough to have good weather, as I think that would be the biggest cause for disappointment for most trekkers in Patagonia. The most magical moment was when we reached Mirador Britanico... impossible to describe the feeling of being in such an overwhelming place. Much like the first time I looked down into the Grand Canyon. The biggest surprise was how beautiful Los Cuernos were in person; photos do not do them justice. But Mirador Las Torres was the real reason for the entire trip to Patagonia, and despite the huge amount of people there and on the trail, it was one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen.

Having completed the W-Trek after 5 days with the most amazing guide and trek partner whom I both met at the briefing the night before. My Patagonia Challenge Trek for Kids Fighting Cancer was more of a challenge than I anticipated and completing it was emotional and quite fulfilling. My trek was covered by a news channel and I was able to raise almost $60,000 for the Jessica June Children's Cancer Foundation to help children fight cancer.

Nothing in particular stood out as a moment, I'd say it was more just being surrounded so consistently by the amount of natural beauty in the park. Just breathing in the fresh air, seeing all the beautiful views and how they change as you trek along or as the weather changes or the wind picks up. Just being immersed in this environment was what made it memorable. And being able to drink from the streams was a very cool bonus.

All of the days had their moments from the base of the three towers to the French lookout to the beautiful sunrise on day 2 which made the mountains look like they were on fire, the whole experience was awesome. I am already havin withdrawal symptoms and wish I could go back and do the trek again!!

Our guides Lucille and Jose made the entire W trek absolutely unforgettable. They were patient with our entire team since we were all different levels. They both were so lovely to be around and kept us at a comfortable pace. We all had so many great laughs on the trail and made so many great memories.

Everything. From start to finish, everything was so well organized and easy, it allowed us to fully appreciate the trekking experience and the absolutely AMAZING beauty of Torres del Paine.

Hiking in the Zapata Valley with no humans for miles, hearing the feral cows, stumbling upon fossils and hearing the thunderous glacier drops - we were literally in the middle of nowhere. After our self-guided hike on the W Trail switching gears to a guided hike in Zapata Valley was incredible. The nearly untouched wilderness engulfed our hearts and we will never forget our time there.

It's a very difficult question. There are so many unforgettable moments during the trip. Daniela and Israel are both amazing guides. They are super nice, knowledgable, considerate and really fun to travel with. They made this trip way beyond my expectation and I genuinely wish it could be longer. My favorite moments include hiking with them to the look out for the Glacier Grey, listening to the stories or anything about Patagonia/Chile, smelling the Paramela and tasting the Chaura, etc. Hard to name it all.

Great group of kindred spirits, lots of laughs after amazing hikes. Wonderful to have had all logistics taken care of so effectively. Landscape exceeded our expectations in its size and grandeur. We were supremely lucky with the weather.

I love my guide Felipe. He was such a joy to trek with. You could see and feel the love that he has for Torres Del Paine. I enjoyed the stories he shared bringing everything to life. You know that someone loves what they do when on their off days, they come back to do some trekking on their own. I couldn't have asked for a better guide.

My group had a fantastic time even though our weather was less than ideal and un-Patagonian (according to our guides). We had no wind at all, and soaking rain for almost two days. That said, the glacial lakes are amazing, the snow covered peaks are awesome, and the magnificence of the environment is remarkable.

Many highlights, but possibly the strange highlight of being woken in the French campsite by thunderous roars from the glacier in the French Valley before trekking to the viewpoint to watch the ice falling. Landscapes spectacular, birds and flowers lovely. People friendly (especially away from the crowded trek on day 1) I’ll tell family and friends that it’s a trek worth doing. Most magical moment... getting to the viewpoint on day 1.
