Overall, how was your trip?

Magellan penguins on Magdalena Island were super fun. The Explora Hotel offered fabulous views, activities, and fellow guests). Interesting time-effective tour of Santiago...loved our guide. Skorpios cruise offered fabulous scenery and close encounters with glaciers. The hotel in Punta Arenas was interesting and fine BUT the room we stayed in the first night (but not when we returned from our cruise) had SUPER squeaky floors, so ask about that when booking rooms. Tell guests that Explora and Skorpios provide water bottles so that we don't bring them.

In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?

Loved the gorgeous, rugged, unspoiled scenery!

Would you visit again?

Maybe

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Swoop was very attentive and fully met our expectations in planning an excellent and well-organized/managed trip. Minor thing: the mailing with ideas of things to do arrived after we departed. I think we were easy clients...other than a few pre-trip questions we didn't demand much of Swoop after the planning process.

How was your experience in Santiago and the surrounding area?

Great hotel, and we loved the adjoining rooms for our family of 4. We loved Valparaiso. Interesting and beautiful place. Enjoyed the wine tour...more detailed and interesting than many I've done. Loved our Santiago guide...sadly her name escapes me.

How was your experience in Torres del Paine?

We were not impressed with the La Yegua Loca hotel in Punta Arenas, where we stayed on 2 different occasions. It was "cute", but at every meal the restaurant was understaffed and poorly staffed, and it served very mediocre food for the price. The location and rooms were fine, except for the squeaky floors. The Explora Hotel was great but we were put right next to the noisy lobby. Not sure if it is your job or ours to specify better located rooms, but the same thing happened at the hotel in Valparaiso. Everything else was GREAT!!

How was your Patagonian cruise?

The cruise exceeded my expectations. Wonderful staff, food, excursions, itinerary. My only complaint is that the morning waking "tradition" was interminable and incredibly annoying. They need a new tradition...or at least end the howling after 10 seconds or so.
