Overall, how was your trip?
The trek was extremely challenging, both physically and mentally. The landscapes are incredible. The people I met were likeminded and a pleasure to be with. I think, the terrain was the biggest surprise in terms of the difficulty levels associated with ascent/descent and underfoot.
In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?
It is a wonderful part of the world and more than met expectations.
Would you visit again?
Yes
How was the service that Swoop provided?
I am happy with the service provided by Swoop. It would be a company that I would use again.
How did you feel about booking directly with our partner(s)?
Chile Nativo were very good and the standard of the guides was high. They went above and beyond what was required of them.
How likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend?
10 out of 10
If you received our guide to Santiago before you travelled, what did you think of it? For instance (but not limited to):
Useful guide and pleased to have received it. Time in Santiago was limited and I had friends there to offer advice too. But this was not really part of the Swoop trip so not sure how to rate below...
How likely is it that you would recommend this trip to a friend? (where 0 = Not at all likely, 5 = Neutral, 10 = Extremely Likely)
10 out of 10
How was the Full Circuit in Torres del Paine?
Difficult to pick out a highlight to be honest. Maybe the morning after completion of the trek when what I had done started to sink in. I was a bit in survival mode during the trip so focused on the physical aspects, food and shelter. The guide was excellent, as was his no.2. I really rate them both highly. Logistics worked very well, and much better than I expected.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Train hard and do invest in the appropriate equipment if you do not have it. The more Spanish you can learn the better. Be prepared for challenging conditions underfoot (uneven/unstable). And leave room in your backpack for food!
Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)
Really happy with Swoop and Chile Nativo. It all worked very well and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount and quantity of food. The days in the more remote parts were best for me. I was lucky to trek with some good people. It was an amazing experience.
