Tell us about EcoCamp

The food was much much better than expected , dinner was almost ridiculously fancy. guides were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite nice, plenty warm. The communal atmosphere and connecting with other people was nice in theory, but I actually got covid while I was there, so maybe they should adjust how they do things because getting covid sucked

Tell us about Torres del Paine

I hate to be cliche and say that the moment that I reach the base of the towers was the most significant but that did feel pretty awesome. Gorgeous rugged scenery. Very windy

Tell us about the Trekking

One frustration is that the guides tended to underestimate the difficulty of the hikes. I think that they were trying to be encouraging, but it could be problematic if someone was not in good enough shape. Fortunately, they would always have more than one guide so one of them could trail behind if someone needed to be slower

Something Else?

There were a lot of problems with the timing of pickup and drop off at the airport that were not communicated well and could definitely be improved

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Clothing - everyone tells you this but yes have lots of good layers and prepare for very windy weather. I would take layers on and off four or five times during one hike as conditions changed Bring a "just in case" small medicine kit because once you are up in the W Trek there is nowhere to go. I was thankful that I brought Ibuprofen with me and cough drops. Apparently cough drops aren't really a thing in Chile?

Would you consider another trip to Patagonia with Swoop?

Yes
