What was your most memorable moment?

Oooh, impossible question. In general, experiencing the vast, spectacular, rugged landscape of Torres Del Paine--whether hiking, biking, horseback riding or mountain biking--with no other people in sight. The enormity of Perito Moreno Glacier. The remoteness and beauty of the Estancia stays. Seeing the wildlife of Peninsula Valdes, again, with no other humans in sight.

Tell us about EcoCamp

We loved everything about Eco Camp...the location, the domes, the community spaces, the food. The views in every direction were spectacular and ever-changing with with clouds and sun. The staff were incredibly friendly and were interested in our plans and always asked about our day. Our guide, Pablo, has to be the greatest guide on the planet. We had him to ourselves all week and he did a phenomenal job of telling us about the area, letting us go at our own pace, and making us think that he actually enjoyed being around us. :) I was worried about being cold at night in the standard dome and sharing bathrooms, but neither was an issue. Plenty of warm blankets on our beds and shared bathrooms were very nice and close to our dome. Loved the excursions---mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, hiking-----not another person in sight. Remarkable experience.

Tell us about Peninsula Valdes

Completely remote and very few people. So interesting to be in a place teeming with wildlife so so few humans.

Tell us about El Calafate & El Chalten

We loved being removed from everything in nature, but it was nice to have a couple nights in El Calafate and El Chalten. Both great little towns with fun shops and good food. Loved seeing all of the backpackers flooding into El Chalten and filing in and out of the mountain.

Tell us about the trekking

We would have loved to have trekked to the base of the towers, but Eco Camp knew there would be hundreds of hikers on that trail, so had us hike Cerro Paine instead. The ONLY people we saw on the entire trek were 3 Eco Camp staff members hiking on their break. Amazing to have that entire trail to ourselves. Half way up the mountain we ran into a herd of domestic horses grazing in the forest who walked right up to us on the path. The views of the Towers were amazing and all to ourselves.

Tell us about the biking

Really fun to mountain bike in such spectacular scenery, through single tracks and high grass. No one else in sight.

Tell us about the kayaking

Beautiful scenery and really fun to kayak in a glacial river. Water was moving fast, but not so fast that it was scary. The guides were really great. They were both young...one was serious and made sure we all knew what we were doing which made us feel safe...and the other was wild and fun. Perfect combination.

Tell us about the horse riding

I enjoyed riding horses on this trip more than I ever have in my life. We were completely alone and could trot or gallop if we wanted to. Didn't feel like we were just on a slow well traveled horse trail. We were in open, vast, land all alone.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I just want to go back and see it all again and add the Lakes District, Tierra Del Fuego and Antarctica.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Definitely start with Swoop. Too big of an area, too many options to plan on your own....and it's impossible to understand the scope of the area without being there.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

No, couldn't be happier with the trip or the guidance we received.
