Tell us about the Trekking
Our guides made the hike for us. They were incredibly knowledgable and kind. They were very fun and personable to be with essentially 24/7 for the days of the hike and I could tell genuinely cared for our safety and well being. I would definitely recommend having guides to other hikers and travelers because they were able to set a pace that made sure we were where we needed to be and when.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
My only tips are for other travelers like myself who might be on one of their first big hiking trips. Always bring snacks, prepare more than you think you need to, bring clean socks for every day of the hike (don't say you will re-wear them just bring clean ones), SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN, and bring a small med kit for blisters and other small injuries, if you have ever experienced knee pain in your life even if it doesn't currently affect you bring a knee brace.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It definitely made me realize I am more physically capable than I originally thought. Driving away from the hike and seeing the distance we traveled in just 4 short days it was insane and I still can't fully wrap my head around it.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
No obvious notes or things that stood out. Our team from start to finish was incredibly helpful and responsive to all questions and concerns and made us feel very supported.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I was extremely excited and the only areas I didn't feel prepared in were my own physical capabilities. In regards to Swoop and that process I felt very prepared.
