What was your most memorable moment?
There were so many memorable moments, but standing at the viewpoint overlooking the glacier after the second bridge really stood out. Seeing the size of the glacier, the ice moving, and the scale of the landscape was unforgettable.

Tell us about Torres del Paine
Torres del Paine absolutely lived up to (and exceeded) my expectations. The landscapes are incredibly diverse — mountains, valleys, lakes, glaciers, and waterfalls all in one place. The highlight for me was seeing the glacier up close, but honestly every day felt different and special. I would describe it as one of the most beautiful and dynamic places I’ve ever visited, and a destination that’s challenging but very rewarding for anyone who loves nature and being outdoors.
Tell us about the Trekking
I personally love hiking, and this trek was nothing like anything I had done before — it was my first multi-day trek. I really enjoyed being able to disconnect and simply focus on walking and taking in the views. It wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend it to other travelers, especially those who enjoy hiking. I also highly recommend investing in good-quality gear (boots, poles, backpack) and testing everything beforehand, and only bringing what you truly need.
Something Else?
I would recommend bringing a few extra snacks, as there can be some waiting time for check-in and meals at the refugios. Other than that, everything was very well organized and the overall experience was great.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Plan ahead and book early, especially for campsites and transportation. Bring good-quality gear and test everything before the trip, and pack only what you truly need. Be prepared for changing weather and strong wind, and stay flexible. Most importantly, take your time, disconnect, and enjoy the experience — it’s challenging, but incredibly rewarding. And I would recommend buying a few snacks you know you will like! You will get hungry hiking all day!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, it made me realize that I can do hard things, and it encouraged me to seek out more adventure-style trips like this in the future.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
One small thing to note is that we learned very last minute (during the meeting right before the trek) that our reservation was for tents instead of refugios. This was partly on us for not double-checking, and it actually ended up being a great experience, but there was a bit of initial confusion. Clearer confirmation of accommodation type earlier on could help avoid that for future travelers.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I felt very prepared and excited for Patagonia. The information provided ahead of time made it easy to know what to expect and helped us feel confident going into the trip.
