What was your most memorable moment?

It wasn't one moment; it really was the combination of the overwhelmingly beautiful scenery in combination with the spirit of the group.

Tell us about EcoCamp

SO, so loved EcoCamp! I felt so cozy in our little dome and then the meals were so darn delicious and it was an easy jumping off point to many of our various hikes.

Tell us about Torres del Paine

Just spectacular - the long Torres hike that is so popular (but I can't remember the name) was truly magical.

Tell us about the Trekking

Our guides were wonderful. As I mentioned before, I had to get used to not having independence. I had never been on a guided trip before and I wasn't expecting to truly be in a line hiking the whole time and so that took a little adjustment to get into the group mentality but it was all good. I would definitely recommend to other travelers but I would be super explicit about what it entails.

Would you consider another trip to Patagonia with Swoop?

Yes

Would you be interested in travelling to Antarctica with Swoop?

No

Would you be interested in travelling to the Arctic with Swoop?

No

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Swoop does a great job of laying out what you need to bring, how to prepare and so I have nothing new.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Not really. I loved it but didn't really change my perspective.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Just being clear about what "guided" really translates to... this may sound silly in that it is probably obvious to most people but I really didn't know that we would really move as a whole. This most of the time works out but it is dependent on the people. We had someone in our group who was quite fearful and it did mean waiting for longer spurts than I would have liked (mostly when I was cold did this feel problematic). The other recommendation has to do with tips. I would so much rather this just be included in the costs. I found it a little stressful about when to pay the drivers and then I felt bad when we pooled tips for our guides and some people really didn't abide by the guidelines and this just felt icky that the total was likely less than they would be excited by.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

In retrospect I was perfectly prepared but I didn't know I was until I got there. I was always super excited.
