Tell us about the Trekking
We had two guides, they were friendly and helpful. They kept pace with the slow and fast halves of the group. The only ask is to have both guides share the same information across the entire group. The lead may be providing information that the tail end of the group may not hear and vice versa.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
A few packing tips for first timers: - You'll need a slightly larger bag than 40L - Recommend bringing a hanging toiletry bag - Walking poles are listed as optional, but should be highly recommended - Clothes, supplies and equipment can be purchased/rented in Puerto Natalas
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, thru-hiking is just as enjoyable and accessible than a beach vacation. Anyone can do it! It's extremely rewarding and enlightening and best experienced in a small group with knowledgeable local guides.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Reduce the number of hand-offs from tour inquiry to activity. I connected with a total of 3 Swoop reps from inquiry to trip start. Suggest a quick check-in from Swoop assoc a few days before the trip.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I felt mostly prepared, though I didn't know what to expect with experience as this was my first thru-hike as well as with a guided group. The pack list was very helpful. Overall, the local agency Chile Nativo did a great job providing everything we needed
