Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
I think with some effort you can connect to local partners and plan the trip without an intermediary agency. You don’t need a guide for the hiking in Los Glaciares or Torre de Paine. Try to get on a glacier hike. We were told we couldn’t if we were over 65, but friends of mine who are over 65 and went with a different tour group were allowed to hike on the glacier.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
No, I continue to enjoy hiking and traveling, combining two of my passions.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
The local partners were excellent! There were too many changes in our contacts prior to our trip. It was confusing.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I was very excited, but wasn’t really sure what to expect, even though I attended the webinar. Until you get to someplace new, there’s always a bit of mystery.
