What was your most memorable moment?
Making it up to the top of Laguna de los Tres and seeing Mount Fitzroy and "the logo" in bright sunshine - made the tough uphill climb so worth it! Then taking a leisurely lunch to soak in the gorgeous views. The Mayo Spirit Trek cruise on Lago Argentina was another highlight - it was so wonderful to get the views of beautiful waterfalls, hanging glaciers, and the unique forest tucked away in the back of the park before going to see Perito Moreno Glacier.

Tell us about EcoCamp
Amazing!! The food especially blew us away with how tasty it was considering the remote location. However, something to recommend to other guests staying here - bring double the cash you think you need for tips!! With SO many guides, drivers, and other staff there, you will want to tip more than you anticipated.
Tell us about the Trekking
The "difficult" hikes in Los Glaciares and Torres del Paine are no joke! The main thing that got us wasn't our legs, but more so our feet - not being used to walking for 15 miles per day, we both got a few blisters and our feet were in pain after pretty much every hike. Would recommend bringing lots of extra pairs of socks, as putting on fresh socks midday was one of the only things that helped.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
If going to EcoCamp, bring a lot more cash than you think for tips. With how many staff you will have waiting on you - from the guides, to servers in the restaurant, to the drivers and bartenders - you will want to tip a lot more people than you might expect, even for a shorter stay. The "difficult" hikes, like Laguna de los Tres, are indeed tough (and this coming from a couple of healthy, active folks in our early 30s). Fuel early and often (pack lots of quick carb snacks like Clif bars and sweets like gummy bears), and pack lots of extra socks - while our legs were generally fine, not particularly sore, it was our feet that were hurting at the end of long hiking days. Darn Tough hiking socks were the only ones that kept our feet feeling good for those long hikes - they are very much worth the investment!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Beyond the most popular hiking locations of Los Glaciares and Torres del Paine, there is still so much for us to see in both Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia - it is such a vast place! We hope to go back someday to see more of it.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Very prepared and very excited! The packing guides in Swoop's Travel Guides were really helpful - we packed all of the recommended clothing items and accessories and ended up using it all, as the weather truly does change constantly and you will feel the best if you are prepared for all of those changes.
