What was your most memorable moment?
Time spent talking with our guides - I learned so much more about the region than just “looking at” it. Also completing the difficult hikes was a personal high.

Something Else?
You didn’t ask about the kayak trip we did on Las Leone River the day we transferred to El Calafate. Speaking for my group of four, we got so much more out of this day than we expected. The hike was amazing in that area and I think you can do a far better job at explaining and promoting it. Seeing the fossils and learning about the land was excellent. Also, you should provide better information about preparing for kayaking - it sounds silly, but we had so many questions in what to bring for footwear. If you simply said we would wear the water booties you provide, and bring your hiker shoes for hiking, it would have helped tremendously. Also should have told us that they would provide the dry bag for the shoes and clothing layers that we would be bringing. We were rather disorganized b/c we weren’t sure of those things, but in the end it all worked out fine. We loved that event.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Regardless of your hiking level and abilities, always use a local guide. You learn so much more about the area and you meet wonderful local people who have pride and love for their beautiful parks.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It reinforces that there are kind and wonderful people all around the world.Taking the time to meet locals adds so much to the experience of seeing a place. In Patagonia, the people were as fantastic as the breath taking parks.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
We appreciated all the communications when the plans got changed, which happened several times. Perhaps those texts were driven by the local outfitters you used, but we found it all to run smoothly. We did appreciate that our driver came into the bus station with us when we were transferring from El Calafate to Puerto Natales. It was very chaotic and confusing even after being told about the two different lines we had to stand in.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
We felt very prepared and even for those in my group ho didn’t read up ahead of time, you kept up great communication while we were on the ground.
