Tell us about the Trekking
Guides were all fantastic, really knowledgeable and very happy to engage at all points during the walk.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
Appreciate you mention the wind in Patagonia but certainly at the top of The Towers walk in Torres Del Paine it was so strong it was taking people of their feet. We were prep'd but it could be worth making sure people understand how strong the wind can be.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Watch out for the wind as already noted. Whilst we expected it, at times it was much stronger then we'd see at home in the UK. Internal flights were a real problem. Aerolíneas Argentinas changed the time of virtually all our flights, cancelled at least one and on two occasions changed airports. As a result we missed one connection. It might be worth warning people that potentially plenty of time is needed and maybe flying in and out on the same day might not be a great idea.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
First time in South America, loved it!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Carys was great. Organisation pre-trip was very good and everything went like clockwork when we were there. When there were issues thanks to Aerolíneas Argentinas they were managed by Carys from the UK which was really helpful. Carys also went above and beyond with help on New Years eve options and food options in Buenos Aires.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Absolutely fine. Information provided pre-trip was very helpful. Highlighting how strong the wind can get might be a thought.
