What was your most memorable moment?
It is impossible to pick just one moment but these were the stand out moments. The Big Ice hike on The Perito Moreno Glacier. Hiking to see Mount Fitz Roy. The W Trek. All of it was incredible. Bike tour in Buenos Aires.

Tell us about Torres del Paine
It exceeded all my expectations. The landscape was different every day, which was a surprise. The hiking was challenging which I also loved. I wasn’t looking for an easy hike. The views were incredible. It’s inspired me to do the O trek next.
Tell us about Los Glaciares
Mount Fitz Roy was a tough hike but so worth it. But the Perito Moreno Glacier is indescribable. A must see for anyone. The noise when the glacier breaks is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before.
Tell us about Buenos Aires
A really fun and friendly city. One day was enough for me but if you like cities then there’s a lot to explore.
Tell us about the Trekking
All of the guides were brilliant. So knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend having a guide as it enhances the experience so much. I learnt a huge amount about the history of Patagonia, the geology, flora and fauna.
Something Else?
Swoop have been amazing. From the sales team through to the customer service team, they have been brilliant. Having one dedicated person to guide me through my choices at the start, then a dedicated contact once everything was booked was lovely. They were happy to have video calls whenever I liked and helped with all my questions in the lead up to going on the trip. Also while away, all of their local contact agencies sent information at each stage of the journey so I had my itinerary to refer to but also local contacts to reach out to via WhatsApp if I wanted to ask any questions. At one point my flight time changed and I needed to get a later bus than planned when connecting. They sorted everything out and kept me informed along the way. Overall an outstanding experience. I can’t recommend Swoop highly enough.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Order an e-sim prior to going. This was incredibly useful. The tents on the W Trek came with pillows. So no need to take a blow up pillow with you. Take a sleeping bag liner. They are very handy.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It made me realise how much I miss hiking and need to do this more regularly. It also made me realise my body is capable of amazing things. Not bad for 50!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
All three people I dealt with during my journey with Swoop were amazing. From sales through to customer service. I can’t thank them enough.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I felt very prepared. The itinerary was very comprehensive and the WhatsApp messages from the local agents were really helpful.
