Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Ensure you plan for LATAM flight changes and expect an overnight stay in Santiago both ways. Go in early March for the best weather. Train for multi=day hiking with elevation gains.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Make sure the Swoop sales person's cost numbers are consistent when you are billed. We thought Swoop would be a reasonable value for the services they provided but in the end we felt there were mistakes, higher charges, and lack of flexibility for flight changes and I would not recommend without caution.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
So impressed with the beauty of Patagonia and the way the park and refugios are well maintained. There is also the sense of accomplishment to complete the W trek as a person who has only done 1 other multi-day hike and I would highly recommend people taking the time to see Patagonia.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Very prepared, did training and had the right equipment. Highly anticipated trip since it was costing so much money and requiring training.
