Tell us about EcoCamp
Beautiful location, wonderful guides, great (and plentiful) food! We had a suite that had private shower and toilet, that was nice. No cell service, internet service (unless you planned ahead to turn off 2-factor authentication on all important logins.) Would have liked to have more warning about that.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Many places people don’t speak much English, so brush up on your Spanish enough to handle airports, busses, drivers, and simple food or other shopping. Don’t try to put together complete sentences, a few words is usually enough to get the job done! Double check timings for getting through customs and security at airports and border crossings, allow plenty of time for connecting flights.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It was really wonderful to get away from social media and the echo chambers in the US on politics, and to just get out and meet people from another country and continent! Helps me keep current US politics in a broader perspective. Chileans have survived a brutal dictatorship and came out of it stronger and more passionate about their country. I hope to learn a lot more about Argentina and Chile now that I am back home!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
You all did a great job!! It was a little unsettling at the beginning as we were handed from one person to the next, but in retrospect it made sense. Each person we dealt with did a great job. We really got the vacations we dreamed of, with no extras we didn’t want like we would get on replanned excursion from Nat Geo or Smithsonian. This was everything we asked for and nothing more! Great job! Thank you!!
