Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Make sure to plan stay in El Chalten for at least 3-4 days…weather is very unpredictable and we would not have experienced a nice view of mountains if we had not stayed for this amount of time…it just increases odds of better weather, at some point during stay. I would skip bus trip from El Calafate to Chile and fly, instead. Going through customs stops added several hours to the trip.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, learned alot about culture and people of Patagonia. Very positive experience!
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Very prepared. Language barrier was not a huge challenge, which was main concern. Guides were excellent. Especially, our guides Marcela and Vicente during our Chile trip.
