Food: Explora Torres had some 'comfort food' burgers etc. that were available for lunch and dinner. That was really smart. We did not avail ourselves of that often, but we both had that one meal where that was the BEST option. The other Explora and the Eco Lodge did not have that option and there were moments when that was missed.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
I would provide better maps (and maybe a physical map) to folks going on a trip like this. The packing lists and some of the pre-trip information has been designed for 'everyone' and was not tailored to what we were doing, so it became a bit confusing what was actually going to happen or would be needed. For instance I had packing lists that suggested gators, a towel etc and none of those items were pertinent to my trip.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes - the history of Patagonia is fascinating.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
For a couple of old guys we are in reasonably good shape. Some of those hikes took us to our limit. I wonder what the experience might be for equally old but not as in shape clients....
