What was your most memorable moment?
There were so many! Hiking in and around El Chalten, El Calafate. Our cruise and Cape Horn were magnificent. Torres de Paine was stunning and our accommodation there was absolutely perfect. The guiding throughout was top notch. Loved the fishing with John Joy and Tres Rios.

Tell us about Tres Rios Lodge
We loved John and Teresa. What a wonderful couple and lodge. It’s not fancy but it was perfect for us. John’s history and story are impressive. We experienced torrential rains, which impacted the fishing, but John did all he could to save the situation. In the end we caught some very nice salmon and made some great memories. I’d like to return.
Tell us about Los Glaciares
Amazing hikes. Our guides, Francisco and Martin, were just super. The Laguna de Los Tres and Laguna Torres treks were lovely if not physically challenging for us. I loved that. Martin took his hand made guitar and played for us. Just wonderful stuff.
Tell us about Tierra del Fuego
Really enjoyed Bruno, our guide. What a character. The national park is really lovely but was a bit crowded on the day.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
Stunning. Just stunning, if you love birding, guanachos, pumas, and historical sights, all is on offer at Tierra Patagonia and this park.
Tell us about the Trekking
Our guides were simply awesome, walk Patagonia placed us with Francisco and Martin- both excellent people. Our treks were a highlight and not to be forgotten.we were VERY lucky with weather.
Tell us about the Zodiac
All of our zodiac experiences were good- based off the Stella Australis. Safe and well handled
Tell us about the Excursions
As mentioned earlier, the guiding at Tierra Patagonia was really top notch. Also Walk Patagonia in Los Glaciers and John Joy at Tres Rios.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Yes. Because to adhere to Swoop’s recommendations as to layering! You’ll encounter everything from cold rain and snow to mild weather while hiking.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes. This trip has made me very thankful. I felt very fortunate to have been able to visit Patagonia
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
My feedback would be overwhelmingly positive. Peter set the groundwork for our trip by taking the time to explore our interests and match them with the proper opportunities. Again , ground transportation and support was very good.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
We felt adequately prepared and relying on the swoop materials was essential.
