What was your most memorable moment?
Day 6, Valle del Frances, with Roberto Carlos guide. It was a rainy morning, and we had full rain gear on by time we reached Guarderia Italiano. Given the choice to head up the canyon, or abort and continue to next camp, 4 of our group elected to hike up to Mirador Valle del Frances with Roberto Carlos. Trusting the variability of Patagonia weather, and our guide, we headed up, and soon the rain stopped, it cleared, and we were in that beautiful amphitheater, with the Cuernos above us on the east, and on the west, Cerro Paine Grande, with snow and ice cascading off the mountain. And not another person in the area...we were the first ones to reach the Mirador after the rain...completely overwhelming, spiritual, and awesome.

Tell us about EcoCamp
Way beyond my expectations, setting and interiors of the common areas are very comforting after the long trek, wonderful and plentiful food, many choices, especially breakfasts, shower and toilet facilities are top-notch, friendly and very helpful staff. Guides for the 9-day (Ian and Roberto Carlos) are knowledgeable, good leaders, and really great human beings. Porters (Cubano, Pepo, Charly, I have forgotten other two names) very cheery, helpful, made us feel good whenever we saw them on the trail).

Much, much better than I expected.
Tell us about the Trekking
Ian and Roberto Carlos are great guides. I was very pleased that the trek was easy in some places, and pretty tough in others, so I felt like I really earned it. Absolutely recommend the O-circuit, as the first 4 days in more remote area are the real reward.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I want more of this type of adventure, and have confidence that I can do it, and will be planning another trip to Patagonia
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Again, team was superb. Ian was able adjust the pace to meet the schedule, keep us separated from other trekkers, and push when necessary, also very knowledgeable about natural setting. Roberto Carlos is a gem, his local knowledge and warmth was a true highlight of the trip. Great porters.
