What was your most memorable moment?

There were so many "memorable moments" to chose from. Walking on Perito Moreno glacier with my family was definitely something I will never forget. But so was completing the Laguna de los Tres hike and reaching Cerro Fitz Roy with my family, and completing the Base of the Towers hike in Torres del Paine.

Tell us about Hotel Las Torres

It lived up to our expectations. The location was amazing - inside the park with easy access to all the sites. The amenities were very nice, clean, comfortable. This was something I didn't expect: LITERALLY EVERY STAFF MEMBER we came across were extremely nice, with a smile on their face, and super eager to help. They must have a very good training program. The food was very good. The drinks were also very good. It is very convenient to come back to a very relaxing and comfortable environment after a full day of hiking - especially Mirador Base Torres!

Tell us about Los Glaciares

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of our trip is the mini ice trekking on Perito Moreno glacier. You can tell the ice trekking company (they are the only operator) has a lot of experience and have dialed everything in. The entire experience was very professional. The guide took really good care of us. Took great pictures of my family! one of the pictures they took was so amazing that I will print it out as a family portrait!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

1. if you are going to do long hikes, be sure to invest in a pair of really good hiking boots and break them in before the trip. I'm not talking about regular tennis shoes, as I have seen a lot on the trail. Just remember that if your feet "dies", there goes your entire trip. 2. Also, what people say about "layering" is very true. it is very important. especially the windbreaker / raincoat. I went in February. when I was hiking, most of the time I had on a long sleeve base layer and wore my windbreaker and that was it. I had a fleece in my backpack but didn't wear it that much.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I used to be a DIY traveler, trying to save some money here and there, thinking that a la carte way of putting a trip together is cheaper and thus better. However, after going with Swoop, I realized that the experience of going with Swoop was without a doubt way better than if I planned this trip by myself, cobbling everything together by myself. All I had to worry about was what to pack and which excursions I wanted to do. it is very nice to have everything else taken care of so I can truly enjoy my vacation with my family. Because you have to remember, vacation time is precious, as everyone wants to maximize their vacation time. Who wants to spend that precious time on troubleshooting while you are on the trip...?

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

I felt very confident of my itinerary before I departed for the trip. The itinerary was very clear, and it had all the contact information on it in case I had issues, which I did not have any.
