Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Know that distances are vast. It’s a long drive from eco camp to anyplace other than the base hike. It’s not like Yosemite, where trailheads are within a couple miles of each other. Weather really does change in minutes - they are not exaggerating need for rain gear and layers. I liked Punta Arenas and puerto natales, glad I built in extra days for overnights in both
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It’s a long way from US. Glad for the experience, not sure I’ll go again. Our boat went into open water one night, and lots of guests got sick. It confirmed my decision not to cross the drake passage for Antarctica
