What was your most memorable moment?

Second day of puma tracking was the best view of Dahlia, a well-known cat. She was beautiful and so graceful. However, it is hard to not choose the incredible views we had with exceptional weather. And the group of 50 condors on the ground was pretty awesome!

Which of the following best describes your adventure?

Great holiday

Something Else?

The guys enjoyed the fishing and the fishing guides were great. Hotel Rio Serrano is a perfect location. For the money, however, I think we should have had rooms on the view side--our was overlooking a roof! One day the staff didn't come to clean until 3pm and we wanted to nap (since we left hotel at 4am) so service wasn't quite as good as I might have expected. But staff was very pleasant.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Have reasonable expectations about the weather. We were lucky, but guides said the entire previous month was rainy and couldn't see the peaks. Also wind is far stronger that I ever expected. But if you go with the flow, it is a fabulous trip. Allow enough time so that you can change plans with conditions and still have a great experience.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

The geography is a bit different than I imagined, since you only see advertising photos of the towers and horns. Glaciers/snow field is huge--I had no idea. But it is also more "civilized" than I expected, with good hotels and fabulous food.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The team was great, everyone helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

Excited yes. Prepared--I stressed a bit. Turns out I did not need as many sets of base layers, clothes as your info recommended, since hotel laundry was same day. More specifics in that area would be helpful--different recommendations for backpackers/campers that hotel guests.
