What was your most memorable moment?
Succeeding in the hike up to the base of the towers - it was non-trivial!
Which of the following best describes your adventure?
Life changing
On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?
9 out of 10
On a scale of 0 to 10, how would you rate your trip: 5-Day W Trek from Serrano Base Camp?
9 out of 10
On a scale of 0 to 10, how would you rate your trip: Kayak from Paine to Natales: 2 Days?
8 out of 10
Something Else?
The guides were all exceptional - Ignacio (Nacho) and Jean on the W hike, as well as Jake and Matthias on the kayaking. Having great guides really made the trip that much better. Also, the people we were with for the 2 adventures, especially the group on the W-trek, were great, and we really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with them.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Once you've packed, unpack, get rid of at least half the stuff you were going to take, and then repack! I just washed my hiking clothes daily and only needed 2 outfits but had brought much more with me!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I thought I needed water shoes for the Kayaking, but they provided everything, so my water shoes were a waste of space in my luggage.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I loved the trip, but realized I am definitely getting to the point in life when sleeping in a pitched tent (like on the kayaking portion) guarantees a terrible night's sleep! The trip only reinforced in me that there is an amazing world out there for me to see.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Very excited, pretty prepared. I still brought too much stuff. I was happy I could keep up with even the most challenging hikes, though they were harder for me than I thought they would be. I hiked the Salkantay trail in Peru in 2018, but was in much better shape then - it would have helped to have been keeping up with my cardio for a couple of the hikes.
