Tell us about the Trekking

The guides on the W trek (Kati and Manu) were amazing. They looked after us really well and were very knowledgeable about the flora/fauna/history of the park. You could sense they really had a passion for what they do.

Big ice was the highlight. Unique experience and very enjoyable.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The communication with the local partners (Chile Nativo and Walk Patagonia) was really good. They communicated with me in real time over WhatsApp which was helpful and informed me of any last minute changes like the airline strikes in Argentina. As mentioned previously there’s the point about the transport and timeframe for los glaciares part of the trip (especially after coming from the w trek and from puerto natales). Was doable for me but reflecting on it I probably would have stayed another day or 2 more in el Chalten given how far it is and how nice the town is.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

I’d definitely recommend doing the guided W trek. I feel the experience was much better and is a better use of time if you have a tight timeline. For the laguna de los tres and laguna torres I feel these can be more easily done without a guide.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

I was well prepared, had all the right equipment and I’m glad I was able to rent/borrow walking sticks since these are important for multi day hikes
