Tell us about the Trekking

When the brochures say "difficult trek" they mean it!! I might have enjoyed my trekking experience if the pass was more fitting to me

Tell us about the Horseriding

Guides, great. Enjoyed being on the horse, but the trail was very difficult and very scarry. Especially when we would be with the walking trekkers on a 3-4 foot wide trail. One side of trail had a 2000' steep slope to watch out for. Scarred the heck out of me. (But the horse was welcome after the trek to the glacier lake. I do not think I would have been able to walk the remaining 3 miles down the slope

Tell us about Buenos Aires

Yes, Great dinner, but shuttle took a long time to arrive. (Understandable because of the many other hotel stops.)

Tell us about Santiago

Great city guide

Tell us about Los Glaciares

Laguna de Los Tres, more difficult than I expected. But then my guide, Julian, though all trekkers were his speed. 14.6 miles of trekking, almost 10 hours. Last 2-3 kilometers very difficult. But great few once reach your goal. Laguna Torre, 13.6 miles 8.5 hours, same young guide. Difficult. Suggest, be younger or in great shape, or hire a personal guide to go your speed. The boat to Perito Moreno glacier was perfect. Small tour group, great guide.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

If going trekking, be prepared. If description says a trek is difficult, maybe have experience on difficult treks. Or be young, 20-50 years old.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Nope!! Much better than I could have imagined.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

My reservation for the Australis was backwards. The reservation had me boarding at Punta Arenas instead of Ushuaia. Took the office about 30 minutes to straightened the issue out. (And then I had a cabin on a higher deck then initially.)

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

A little nervous, did not know what to expect. Was wondering how all of the reservations and shuttles from airport to hotels and back to other locations would work. No NEED to worry, every shuttle was on time, all drivers were courteous. Some shuttles had a driver and another rep of the shuttle company also riding as a passenger. Perfect
