What was your most memorable moment?
We had so many: walking on an actual glacier at Perito Moreno, hiking on an active volcano and finding birds in the lake district, meeting locals and staying at a gorgeous palafito on Chiloe Island, multiple hikes in torres del paine. We had an amazing time.

Tell us about Hotel Rio Serrano
Room was lovely, food met our mixed dietary needs (though the staff's understanding of dairy-free varied!). the hotel was clean, modern, easy to navigate, the front desk staff was very helpful. The excursion are mentioned earlier in the survey about the torres del paine tours - overall, the staff at the Massif excursions office in the hotel were weirdly unhelpful and provided little details of the excursions. When we discovered that they didn't match the challenge level we were looking for on the first day, they were strangely uninterested in helping us secure different tours for the remainder of our time (not for lack of availability, I think, but hard to tell), which was disappointing.
Tell us about Chilean Lakes
Roberto Brahm was a real standout of a guide, and made the experience quite special and magical. We especially loved visiting the penguins, and while we never would have picked churches as a way to explore a region, Roberto made it interesting and fun. The birding outing was also lovely.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
The steep up and downs were no joke, i was glad i had done some incline training prior to the trip, it made it easier to enjoy the hikes.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes. It was awesome, and we are looking forward to coming back, especially to explore more of Chile. We were truly awed by the people, the landscape, the real focus on conservation and food, and we're forever changed from this experience: it felt like being in a nature show!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Swoop was great, we were consistently impressed by the digital itinerary, the helpful lists of things to prepare, the blog posts and videos about what to expect (and how much to tip!), etc etc.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Very on both counts.
