Tell us about Awasi
While overall Aswasi was great, there were just a few things that we wish had been different: We did not always appreciate some “fancier” aspects of this lodging (for example the more exotic/unique food offerings at the restaurant; & the, to our mind, unnecessary daily cleaning of our cabin, including changing the towels and rearranging the furniture we moved back to its original configuration, but then, we have simpler tastes and usually have a more independent style of travel. But others might enjoy some of the more luxury oriented aspects of the facility that did not matter to us.
Something Else?
The guide with the tour of Santiago was great, and we enjoyed the tour and all the things we got to do and see. The Santiago hotel itself was fine, but we had to leave before breakfast was served, and the packed breakfast was disappointing: a cheese sandwich on dry white bread, a bag of nuts, and a container of yogurt. I wish they had given us at least some choice.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Patagonia is a big area, and there are a lot of wonderful things to see and do. But be prepared to spend a fair amount of time traveling from place to place. We appreciated having drivers familiar with the area and the very rough roads, so we did not have to worry about getting lost or damaging a rental vehicle.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
No
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
The one disappointment I had with Swoop was regarding our bus trip from El Calafate to El Chalten. When we got our final itinerary with the bus tickets, the ticket for that particular bus trip was not included. I had to reach out to find out that it would not be available until closer to the trip. But 48 hours before that bus ride, I still had not heard anything, and again had to reach out for information and to receive the ticket. It would have been nice to have been told this information without having to ask for it. Then the bus itself was a disappointment. Our assigned seats (#3 &4 on bus #10) had no seat belts or shoulder harnesses, although the bus was empty enough we could find seats with belts easily. The Caltur bus itself was not as nice as the prior two buses we had ridden, and it was hot (the heat was on). The baggage guys hung a sign saying "we do not get paid; please tip us." On the front passenger side wheel, one of 10 lug bolts was snapped off. Decals on the bus were peeling badly. Wi-fi was not working. The driver had to slam the entry door repeatedly to get it to latch close. Overall the bus did not seem up to Swoop standards.
