What was your most memorable moment?
I had a fall on day 3 and hurt my MCL. I woke up on day 4 having a hard time walking, but only had one more hike to complete the W-trek (plus another day to return to Paine Grande). I made the difficult decision to start the hike that day, with the intention of turning around within a quarter mile if necessary. I was able to work through the pain (which eventually went numb) and the hike itself that day was absolutely stunning. The viewpoint mid-way to Grey was stunning, and the final viewpoint at the Grey campsite was equally moving. Finally, we were able to do kayaking up to the glacier. The entire day was perfect and I felt a great sense of accomplishment for finishing the entire W and working through the pain.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Pack lightly! Plan for blisters and other ailments and make sure you are ready for anything! Enjoy yourself, unplug, and take in all the sights!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Traveling always changes my perspective...it always makes me put myself in the shoes of others that live in these beautiful places. It reminds me to slow down at home and enjoy all of the small things. Lastly, it always makes me feel a deeper appreciation for nature and the beauties of the world we do not fully understand.
