Lagunas Madre, Hija & Nieta
This is a group of three lakes, which lies on a trekking route not far from the town of El Chalten, in the shadow of Mount Fitz Roy. Laguna Madre is the largest and its name literally means 'mother'. The next largest is Hija, meaning 'daughter', and the smallest by far is Nieta, meaning 'granddaughter'.
