A small town on the southern shore of the Lago Genereal Carrera, it is one of the largest of the surrounding settlements. Just 4km west of the border with Argentina, it serves as a nice little stop-over when crossing between Chile and Argentina. Crossing the lake by ferry to Puerto Ibanez on the north shore is a lovely experience in the summer sun, as is following the route along the shoreline by car.
