Valle Chacabuco provides an incredible landscape - a rare east-west valley, it showcases the transition from Andean peaks through to the grasslands of the steppe. Valle Chacabuco is at the heart of the planned "Patagonia National Park". The park has been under development since 2004 and is this year (2014) opening to the public (although not yet a "National" Park).
