Located at the gateway to Torres del Paine, one could assume that Puerto Natales airport would be one of the busiest airports in the area. However, with its sporadic flights, out-of-town location, and complete shut down over winter, Puerto Natales airport receives only a fraction of Torres del Paine's visitors every year. With many more options available, this small airport invariably loses out to reliable public buses and the larger, more comfortable Punta Arenas airport.
