What was your most memorable moment?

Hiking in the Zapata Valley with no humans for miles, hearing the feral cows, stumbling upon fossils and hearing the thunderous glacier drops - we were literally in the middle of nowhere. After our self-guided hike on the W Trail switching gears to a guided hike in Zapata Valley was incredible. The nearly untouched wilderness engulfed our hearts and we will never forget our time there.

Something Else?

Chile Nativo was an amazing partner during this trip. Not only did they set up our rooms and stays on the W Trek Refugios, but their team was super friendly, knowledgable and accessible throughout the entire trip. Our guide, Tim, was impressively smart and taught us so much about the region, the wildlife and the history of the Zapata area. Our porter and cook Nico was super friendly, prepared delicious food and shared his Mate with us often. At the Chile Nativo camp we met Sebastian, who while new to Chile Nativo, was super informed about adventures in Chile to round out our trip and even shared and taught us a few Chilean card and board games!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Make sure to plan a mix of guided and non-guided activities if you can. The guided hikes took us to places in the park that we would have never seen and the self-guided W Trek allowed us to feel a bit of autonomy on the trip. Ending our adventures with a kayak can not be recommended enough. It's an incredible way to view different parts of the park, give your legs a rest and have a change of pace in adventure!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

It's opened our eyes to how untouched and wild parts of the world still are.

Do you have any recommendations or feedback for the Swoop team?

No, Natascha was amazing!
