Were Swoop right to recommend Chile Nativo?
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
While the W Trek can be accomplished unguided, we felt like we got great value with our guide. He was very familiar with the trail, the geology, and the flora and fauna. For example, on our windy and rainy day (can't have the true Patagonia experience without one of those) he had us stop for a break before cresting a hill because (we would be very exposed there and it is better to break now." Indeed, winds were crazy strong over the hill. He also had friends in every refugio, so knew the inside track on the fun stuff For example, at Lago Grey, we had whiskey on the rocks using glacier ice. How cool is that?!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Chile is a great country full of great people and great food and I would go back in a heart beat.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
As mentioned in the specific feedback about Chile Nativo, I think it would be in Swoop's best interest to discuss why our reservations were so messed up (multiple times) and especially why the emergency number went unanswered when we needed them most.
