It was a great trip even with all the Covid19 restrictions in place at that time. We found the Chilean people warm and friendly and the country vast and beautiful. Using Swoop Patagonia was the smartest thing we did preparing for the trip. They handled everything perfectly and the few hiccups along the way (self induced or covid related) were remedied smartly. Their on the ground agents in Chile were incredibly helpful and eager. We would not have had the same wonderful trip without the aid of Swoop. We just could not have planned and executed the same with our limited knowledge of Patagonia travel.

Each hike, or kayak, or horseback ride gave us the chance to experience a beauty unlike any I have ever seen.

On the first day of our Trek, we were turned away by the rangers less than 1km from the Torres viewpoint because it was snowing so hard! It was disappointing to not see the towers but being caught in a summer snowstorm in Patagonia will be something we will never forget.

Its hard to pick out one thing, but I would have to say watching the sun rise over the towers was amazing a long crazy hike but there was a full moon made it even better.

Snow fall at the top of the John Gardner Pass and in the forest on the route down while overlooking the Grey Glacier... then in the night hearing the wind shriek down the valley and hit the side of the tent at Camp Grey. Clear blue skys in the French Valley while seeing and hearing multiple avalanches cascade down the mountain sides... then continuing to hear the avalanches at night from the next camp. Trekking by [full] moonlight to The Towers and to experience the spectacle of sunrise.... then kicking back for the day at EcoCamp!

We got a Chilean guide and got to know her, the ecosystem, and the people of Chile. The views and land of Patagonia are beautiful and breathtaking. My partner and I got to know each other better and were laughing every day. We woke up to gusting winds inside a tent.

Seeing a glacier for the first time was indescribable. The weather was wild, we had our heads down as we hiked because the rain and wind were coming at us sideways. My husband actually thought it was hailing due to how hard the rain drops felt as they hit our faces. We started up a hill to a look out of Grey Lake and when we hit the top we saw they most stunning glacier, the Lake was this soft velvety grey, and to the right the sun was shining through the clouds and lighting up the snow covered mountains. It was this mix of crazy chaos from the wind and rain and the most peaceful joyful moment of seeing such incredible beauty. As we headed down the hill my son told me that he thinks he just had the most amazing experience of his life.
