The highlight of the trip was arising to the wonder of a firey early morning sunrise on the day we were trekking to the Three Towers of Torres del Paine National Park. The mountains were lit in shades of red, pink, hints of blue–setting the stage for the most perfect conditions to hike. We were bathed in sunshine and experienced very little of the infamous Patagonian winds. What a day!

There were so many moments I look back on, but I guess one highlight was meeting with our guide Flo in the bar to discuss the adventure we just had and to plan the next day. Of course, a delicious Pisco Sour (or 2) was enjoyed during this time. The bar was buzzing with everyone else talking about their day as well! We would then move on to dinner with more laughs and stories of our day!

Lunch our final day -- on the Cuernos leg of the W trek, westward from our Eco Camp lodgings, with a tight group of fellow vigorous travelers. Something about that look-out, looking at the central, highest, most geologically gorgeous section of the Torres del Paine massif, and with the full map of the W trek emblazoned in my brain (having covered 3 fragments in the 3 previous days' hikes), marked a culminating high.

A lot of the scenery was stunning of course… while this isn’t a positive, I wasn’t able to see the towers—they were completely concealed by clouds—and that whole first day experience really sticks out in my memory. I had tried to switch the day of the hike but was told that was all they had available… had I been able to rearrange days of the excursions I probably would have gotten to see them. That hike was also dampened (not by the rain/snow which it did rain/snow the entire day, which I didn’t mind) by the other guests who were a group all in their 70s who really struggled with the hike/elevation gain (I’m 34). We had to stop about every 200 feet or so…. For me it was just an average/standard hike. I learned later that it’s not really required to be in a group/go on an excursion/have a guide. I had gotten that impression previously… I would probably approach a trip to Torres del Paine much differently based on the recent experience.

Hiking to Lagos De los Tres to see Mount Fitz Roy. It was an incredibly beautiful and clear day. Also, Perito Moreno Glacier was quite memorable.

Seeing, for the first time, the magnificence of the incredible horns and the partial view of the towers from the incredible view the Aurora hotel provides. That day, the water in front was clear and steady reflecting the mountains.

Our trek in La Tierra Del Fuego! This was by far the very best led by the best guides, Sebastian and Marine. Their knowledge, their experience, their love for the land and their work as guides made it even more special!

The day spent with a private driver and guide exploring different areas of the park - spoting different animals, gaining a better understanding of the geologic history of the park, and hiking to viewpoints. This was a quiet and peaceful day where we saw few others. Personally, I enjoyed the solitude of this day over the heavily occupied trek to the base of the Towers. (That was still a good day but with so many people, it was hard to stop on the trail and just take in the view)

I truly cannot pick just one. Each experience really was amazing and some we would say were insane... fishing beneath the glaciers near El Chalten with two wonderful guides, hiking the Laguna Los Tres trail, the Perito Moreno glacier, Patagonia Camp with it's delicious food, gracious staff, and unforgettable views.

Very hard to say- all amazing in so many different ways. Loved the Atacama- such an incredible landscape and wonderful guides and a beautiful hotel. The Lakes area- very beautiful. Torres del Paine- simply stunning ! The Eco camp very comfortable , very knowledgable guides and beautiful walks. Agua Arribas Lodge quite incredible- felt so very well looked after there and very understated in its elegance. El Calafate- again so stunning , great walking and great guide. All up , an incredible experience ! Thank you

The O Circuit is the best way to see all that Torres del Paine has to offer. Everyday offers a spectacular and different nature feature to see. From granite towers, to glacier clad mountains, to Grey Glacier, every day is incredible. I met several wonderful people on my trip who all shared the same joy of being in the special place.
