Distance: 70km

On this day, our journey starts on the vehicle. After 30 kms north, we finally get on our bikes. On the way we pass through the little village of Junin de los Andes, then we turn west towards the mountain that gives its name to the National Park, the Lanin Volcano of 3776 meters above sea level. The road will give us on every turn the best views of the volcano to which we will slowly be approaching. To end the day we go through a forest of araucarias that we will lead us to the base of the volcano where we set up our campsite.

Accommodation: Camping.

Day 3: Paso Tromen - Pucon

Distance: 88km

After a good breakfast we continue our trip to the west. Only a few miles away we stop for immigration and customs formalities, and then once on chilean ground, we begin a long descent through the woods. The landscape changes, it turns more humid and leafy, with incredible rivers and green meadows. Getting closer to Pucon we will discover on our left hand a new cone, the Villarrica Volcano with its steaming crater. Once in Pucon, we head straight to our accommodation.

Accommodation: Hostel, Pucon

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Pucon - Ruta Transvolcanica - Conaripe

Distance: 55km.

We begin going uphill entering Villarica National Park between Villarica and Quetrupillan Volcanoes. We continue going uphill into the dense Andino-Patagonico forest on a 20km trail. On this part of the journey, we will not be joined by a support car because of the thick forest. This is one of the most special parts of the trip, and even though it will be more demanding, the land, the volcanoes and araucaria (aka monkey puzzle trees) forests become a great award and an excellent memory. Once we finish the transvolcanic route, we will get to the town of Conaripe, where we will spend the night.

Accommodation: Cabins, Conaripe

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 5: Conaripe - Neltume

Distance: 36km

This is not a very long day in which we begin our journey towards west for a few km and then finally turn south, riding the shores of Neltume Lake with great views. Our lunch will be by the shore of this lake from where we can see two new volcanoes, Mocho and Chosuenco. To end the day, we bike about 10km uphill till the town where we spend the night, Neltume.

Day 6: Neltume - San Martin de los Andes

Distance: 20km

Before leaving we can trek around to find better and closer views of the volcanoes, and also the beautiful waterfalls of the Fuy River. Then we continue for about 5 km south till Puerto Fuy on the shores of Pirihueico Lake where we take a boat transfer. The boat ride takes about 2 hours, with great views of the rainforest that covers all the surrounding mountains. Back on land and once on our bikes we cross the border and we continue for about 16 km to our final stop by the shores of Nonthue Lake. From here we take a transfer to San Martin de los Andes (1 hour).
