The lakeside town of Pucon sits beside the Villarica Volcano in the Chilean Lake District. From here you can summit the volcano to see its smoking crater and magnificent views along a chain of snow-capped volcanoes, and in the nearby Huerquehue National Park, trails lead through ancient forests of monkey-puzzle trees, mirror lakes and waterfalls.
